I’m putting together this week’s menus, and have decided on lamb chops for a dinner for seven on Friday. I added mushrooms because any excuse, and hadn’t yet decided on the carb aspect. You’ve solved that, thank you! (There will be other veg at the meal!)

Le 14 Juillet 1969 I arrived in Brittany on a French exchange to be whisked off to a lunch of langoustine which I had no idea what to do with, nor did I know about Bastille Day. Very memorable, gave me a love of seafood and France. Never looked back.
