This is lovely, Liz, and very nostalgic for me as an Irishwoman! There's a Lammas Fair every year in my hometown of Ballycastle in the North, and I love Brian Friel's play 'Dancing at Lughnasa' set in August 1936.
Thank you Ann. I love that play too - even though it reduces me to a gibbering wreck at the end. It’s a reminder that for all we have gained, there are things we have also lost and we should try and keep the memories of them alive.
